Position Description
Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager works to ensure the general maintenance and repair of the hotel. Requirements include: basic / general knowledge of maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry. Demonstrates and provides outstanding customer and employee relations at all times. Presents in a neat and clean appearance at all times. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Basic or general experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool maintenance, mechanical and / or carpentry is a plus.
Must have proven success in a similar position.
Must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards. Must be open-minded to a variety of guests and their individual needs.
Must be able to determine how to meet these needs with the resources available.
Flexible to change.
Bending, moving, lifting up to 50-75 lbs occasionally.
Successful candidate must be willing to work a variety of shifts as necessary and be available as business demands require.
Must be extremely professional at all times and with all interactions.
Excellent computer skills – including Microsoft Excel
Communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in both written and verbal form.
Position Requirements/Job Results:
Locates and corrects in-room heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) malfunctions, and adjusting HVAC units to include systems and control checks.
General knowledge of procedures for repairing and/or replacing all types of plumbing equipment.
Handles all in-house repairs with regard to removing and replacing bathroom tile, painting, repairing wallboard, wall vinyl, carpentry, etc.
Utilizes basic hand and power tools required for general maintenance.
Performs Preventive Maintenance program in guest rooms and public area of hotel.
Conduct monthly inventories.
Completes preventative maintenance checklist and other maintenance records.
Maintains tools, work spaces, equipment, property exterior and grounds to assure cleanliness.
Familiar with all major shut off stations, including water and electric with fire alarm stations.
Maintains security for guests and property by ensuring that room doors are locked at all times, keys are controlled, lost and found articles are properly logged and securely stored, reports suspicious activity by guest or others and observes all security and safety regulations.
Capable of communicating with a wide variety of people, including ownership, upper management, hourly staff, and hotel guests.
